sysdef -- output system definition

Synopsis

/usr/sbin/sysdef [-n namelist]

/usr/sbin/sysdef -i

Description

sysdef analyzes the default bootable kernel and extracts configuration information. The output from sysdef includes hardware and software specifications used when the operating system was built. The configuration information may include hardware configuration as well as software devices and tunable parameters. The format of the configuration information displayed is implementation defined.

The default system namelist is /stand/unix.

Command options:

-n namelist: Specifies a namelist other than the default (/stand/unix). The namelist specified must be a valid bootable operating system
-i: Allows you read the configuration information from the kernel that is currently in memory (that is, from /dev/kmem) rather than from a file.

Files

/stand/unix: default operating system file (file that contains the system namelist)

Return values

internal name list overflow: If the master table contains more than an internally specified number of entries for use by nlist(3elf).
